RTI and Good Governance


This paper embraces the relevance of Right to Information from ages to ensure good governance on play, highlighting the milestone of empowering the Indian citizens to transparency and accountability with enactment of Freedom of Information Act, 2002 on 12th October 2005. This paper enumerates the basic guide lines of the Right to Information Act, deciphering the relationship between Right to Information Act and good governance. Indian democracy while passing through decisive phase, there is an increasing demand to review the issues which are essential to Right to Information Act and proposes some recommendations which can help in effective functioning of Right to Information Act in world’s largest democracy.
