Ransomware attack is an attack where hacker will lock all your system computer or other computer resources or encrypt your data and then ask for extortion money. If you do not pay the ransom then they will not decrypt the data and even can sell your valuable data. It is one of the very sophisticated attack using or through the Dark Web and in most of the cases the ransom is asked by way of bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies. Last year, when the pandemic affected the world for the first time, Interpol organization warned the entire world of increase cyber crimes and among whom infrastructural attacks were predicted. In 2017, we have seen one of the world’s large-scale ransomware attack which shocked the entire world and put large-scale to small scale organizations under huge problems. Since few months we have seen series of large-scale and small-scale ransomware attacks throughout the world. The database of a public library in Indiana, USA was hacked and ransom were demanded. Another incident which shook the entire USA security system i.e. “Colonial pipe-line ransomware attacks” wherein entire system was forced to be stopped for nearly six days and ultimately the fraudsters were paid their ransom in bitcoins and the system was revived. Thereafter another very unfortunate incident happened in Germany, when hospitals data systems were hacked and put under ransomware attack and one of the patients who could not be taken out to the nearby hospitals and died due to lack of treatment. Recently in Mumbai, we heard the electricity system was attempted to be hacked which was though later on recovered.

HOW TO DECRYPTRANSOMWARE ?In case your system or your data or your files encrypted by ransomware, there will be no option left but to pay their demands or put up the risk of loosing your data for ever. Remember, precaution is better than cure. There is no such ransomware removal tool or restore files infected by ransomware.  HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF FROM ransomware attack ?Every organization been small or been big can be attacked by Ransomware at any point of time. To protect yourself from unwanted ransomware attack you may adopt some safety measures. For example –You and your organizations should have a habit of keeping the back up of your important data on regular basis in external hard discs or extrarenal devices. You should avoid clicking on fishing or untrusted link Restraining yourself from installing any unknown software specially with .exe extension Always keep an updated anti-virus in your system Restrain from pirated software and regularly update your license software Maintain a two ways authentication technique so that incase of one channel fain. The other one will rescue you Keep protected and be safe.
