A bail bond is a written document signed by the convicted person and his or her friends or relatives (known as surety) to ensure that the accused is brought before the court at the scheduled time and date as ordered by the court. The amount of bail shall be determined by the court corresponding to the seriousness of the alleged crime if the accused fails to appear before the court on the date of the trial.
