U.S. Supreme Court to decide on Trump's ban on immigration from Muslim majority countries

Washington:  Trump's September announcement banning entry into the United States of most people from Iran, Libya, Somalia, Syria and Yemen and other Muslim majority faces its severest test as U.S. Supreme Court hears a challenge to the lawfulness of his travel ban.

High Courts have so far partially agreed with Trump's ban.Where they have decided against lower courts decision to block the ban on immigrants, they have ruled against Trump's moving out young immigrants who entered U.S as illegal immigrant.

Trump’s immigration policies have led to friction between State of California and Federal State too. The lead challenger to Trump's order is the state of Hawaii, which argues the ban violates federal immigration law and the U.S. Constitution’s prohibition on the government favoring one religion over another.

Trump has said the travel ban is needed to protect the United States from terrorism by Islamic militants. Those opposing say such an order is due to Trump’s enmity toward Muslims.

In its defense, the Federal Government says there are multiple waiver provision which enables  people from banned countries to travel to U.S.
