SECRETARY GENERAL, SUPREME COURT EXPRESSES DEEP CONCERN OVER THE CONTENT PUBLISHED IN A LEADING NEWSPAPER

Supreme Court Judges DY Chandrachud and Nariman told the in-house committee that the one-sided hearing without the victim will affect the image of the Supreme Court. Both the Justices had suggested that an advocate be appointed as an amicus curie. The appointed advocate would be assisting the in-house committee. Based on this, the committee decided to move further with the hearing even when the complainant said she would not appear before the Court.

The ground of refusal was that the complainant was not satisfied with the previous hearings and she thought that no justice will be served to her.

Recently, the Secretary General of the Supreme Court has issued a statement expressed the Court's grief that a leading newspaper had published that the Justices appointed for the matter had met Justice Bobde and that the committee is working on it own without considering the inputs and say of the any of the other Supreme Court Judges.
