SC Approves Use Of Double-Sided Printing On A4 Sheets

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on 13th February 2020, has ruled that the documents can now be filed with print on both sides of A4 size sheets. Until now, court documents had to be filed on one-sided print.

A decision to this effect has been taken in environmental interest, in a meeting of the Committee for Rationalization of Use of Papers in the Supreme Court of India and for Introduction of Paperless Courts with members of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) and the Supreme Court Advocates on Record Association (SCAORA).

The SC Committee invited the Bar Members last month to discuss the paper rules and other criteria in order to minimize their consumption.

A circular was released to that effect on Thursday i.e. 13/02/2020, which also intimates that recent amendments have been addressed regarding the filing of caveats. Ashok Arora, the SCBA Secretary reported that the decision had been taken to end recent changes that had made the process of filing caveats more complicated.
