Ryan Student Murder Case - Supreme Court Issues Notice on the Plea for Better Security, CBI/SIT Probe

Acting on a petition filed by the father of the 7-year-old boy who was found murdered inside the toilet of the Ryan International School in Gurgaon, Supreme Court has issued a notice to the Centre and rest of the states including Haryana to ensure better security and safety measures in the schools.

Centre and Haryana government will be required to reply separately on demand for a CBI or SIT probe into the killing. The notice was issued by the bench headed by the Chief Justice Dipak Misra.

The father of the victim suspects some past connection leading to the murder as there was no reason for the conductor to commit the crime. He emphasized upon checking the CCTV footages of previous days and urged for a detailed investigation by CBI to clear the motive behind the murder. The father who works as a quality control manager at a crafts company in Gurgaon expressed his discontent towards the probe conducted that concluded that the murder was committed on the spur of a moment. As per him, the conductor was well prepared to kill the child as he entered the school with a knife and committed the murder as soon as the boy went to the toilet.

The father of the deceased boy raised questions on the conductor having a criminal background, his possession of knife and he also demanded the addition of section 304 (death by negligence) of the IPC to the case apart from the section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act against school management which is already added by the police.
