Rajasthan High Court commence hearing matters through Video Conferencing.

In a major step taken by the Chief Justice S. Ravindra Bhat of the Rajasthan High Court, the court will now hear cases through video conferencing on a regular basis.

The Chief Justice passed the historic order thereby making it a worthwhile subject and allocated time slots of 12.30 pm to 1 pm and 3.30 pm to 4.30 pm for the same.

This significant measure will benefit in hearing of the matters even if the judges are shifted from one bench to another i.e., Jaipur & Jodhpur.

The Rajasthan High Court had successfully conducted a hearing through video conferencing in the MBC (More Backward Classes) quota for Gujjars case last month and the same was considered to be an exceptional and notable hearing.

It has been further stated that court numbers 1 and 15 of the principal bench at Jodhpur and court numbers 1 and 20 of the Jaipur Bench of Rajasthan High Court shall be designated for video conferencing.

The High Court authorities have also started providing and installing the facilities in the designated courts so that in future if necessity arises then matters could be heard through video conferencing.

This move would prove to be beneficial and expedite the hearings of matters while also helping in decreasing the pendency of matters and burden of the courts.
