Punjab & Haryana HC Launched IT Initiatives for Lawyers and Litigants Benefit

The Punjab & Haryana High Court has launched several IT enabled services for the benefit of lawyers and litigants at the High Court.

Justice Krishna Murari, the Chief Justice of the Punjab & Haryana High Court unveiled the IT-based initiatives on Sunday.

The initiatives included an Android based Mobile Application, e-Payment of High Court Services, Infrastructure Web Application, Online Grievance & Feedback System, Surety Information Management System, Crystal Reports Software and e-Notices.

The Android app is developed with the purpose to improve the tracking of cases for any person/litigant interested to have any information about a court case – even on the move. The app is available for download on the Google Play Store. More specifically, the application will help users search case status through case number, advocate name or party details.

In collaboration with State Bank of India and for benefits of litigants, a payment gateway was launched for online transfer of money, wherever money is required to be deposited in Court for any services, through Multi Option Payment System (MOPS).

Further, the Infrastructure Web Application was launched to monitor the status and progress of Judicial Court Complexes and Residential Houses.

And the, Online Grievance & Feedback System application will enable the litigants/general public to give their feedback and suggestions online.

A Surety Information Management System was introduced to help lawyers keep a check on fake sureties and track persons who repeatedly provide sureties in criminal/civil matters on the basis of fake documents.

Crystal Reports Software (CCR 3.0) was introduced to boost report generation through Case Information System 3.0 in the subordinate courts in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh. Developed by the officials from the District Court, the module will help District Court judges monitor progress of cases more effectively.

Lastly, a module was launched for sending e-Notices to ensure speedy delivery of notices to the concerned Police Station.

All of the above mentioned initiatives have been developed by the officials working in the High Court and District Courts under the guidance of Justice Rajesh Bindal, Chairman of the Computer Committee of the Punjab & Haryana HC.
