PIL SEEKING RESTRICTION ON MEDIA TO COVER THE LATEST UPDATES ON CJI RANJAN GOGOI'S MATTER DISMISSED BY DELHI HIGH COURT

Anti-Corruption Council of India had filed a PIL in the Delhi High Court seeking restriction on the media for covering the sexual harassment case until and unless the allegations against CJI Ranjan Gogoi are proved in the in-house inquiry. Such restriction is sought to stop the defamation the CJI and judicial system are continuously facing due to the matter.

In the petition, it is alleged that the Anti National persons are involved in imposing such (false) allegations. It read as "the news rotated putting an allegation against the Chief Justice of India is paid news which reflects a direct hit on the image of the country itself by the country media".

The PIL states that "the part played by the respondents in connivance with the dismissed employee of the office of CJI ensures that the respondents are trying hard to fail the Indian judicial system which directly points towards some other alliance to take over our judicial system".

However, the PIL has been dismissed by the Delhi High Court. This means the media is not restricted to cover the latest updates on the matter of CJI being accused of sexual harassment.
