Fake sanitisers: Dealers settle, but Delhi High Court imposes Rs 1.5 lakh fine

The victim and the two accused had filed a petition before the Delhi High Court requesting to dismiss the FIR, as the parties had resolved their dispute by themselves. The case was that, 450 litres of fake sanitisers were sold by one petitioner to another and the victim had filed an FIR against the seller. The police lodged a FIR against the seller and the manufacturer of the sanitisers. However, the parties had resolved their disputes by their own.

Justice Suresh Kumar was hearing the plea and had allowed the plea, but fine was imposed. The Court directed the petitioners to pay a sum of Rs 50000/- into Delhi Police Martyrs’ Fund and a sum of Rs 100000/- to the Bharat Ke Veer fund.

The two petitioners were ready to pay the fine, but the third petitioner pleaded that he is very poor and earn his living by driving an e-rickshaw.  The Court had spared the cost for the third petitioner only.
