Centre and J&K Govt clash in SC

New Delhi : The respective councils of Centre, Attorney general K.K. Veenugopal and J&K govt council Advocate Shoeb Alam contested each other's claim over the setting up of state minority commission. The case is being heard by bench led by SC Chief Justice Dipak Misra. Attorney general informed the bench that the J&K govt is disowning the assurance it gave on the matter. So let the court decide on merit. Contesting this the J&K govt council stated that they never disowned the minutes and said some parts of the meeting attributed to them are not true.

The issue remains vexed as Hindus are minority in state of J&K whereas nationally they have not been declared minority in any central notification in this regard.
