Allahabad HC accepts a plea for promotion of students up to class 8 without exams.

A petition has been filed in Allahabad High Court by Masoom Bachpan Foundation to promote students up to class 8 without any examination. This particular petition has been filed for the protection of the children as they are facing tremendous health problems for attending online classes, as due to excessive online classes their eyes are getting affected from electromagnetic waves which are being emitted from laptop, desktop, or mobile screen.

Chief Justice Govind Mathur and Justice Siddhartha Verma were hearing the plea and had asked for a reply from the Government regarding the promotion to higher classes without taking any examination up to 8th standard.

The petitioner also requested the Court not to allow any unaided private schools to charge any fee for the lockdown period. The primary goal of this petition is to ensure the physical and mental health of young children and to take into account the serious effects of electromagnetic waves emitted by machines on a continuous basis, which have a serious issue on anxiety or tension levels, critical thought, memory, temperament and mental wellbeing.

The Court will hear the petition on 4th December, 2020.
