87 judges transferred, Changes under Justice Gita Mittal as 13 traffic courts get abolished [Read Notification]

Delhi sees another major change in the judicial set up under the leadership of Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal as 13 traffic courts held in Tis Hazari, Karkardooma, Patiala House, Dwarka, Saket and Rohini get abolished.

According to the notification issued by the Delhi High Court, along with the abolition of traffic courts, 87 judicial officers of various courts have been transferred.

The District and Sessions Judge of the concerned court has been directed to ensure that proper track is kept about movement of cases from transferor court to transferee court due to the transfers of these judicial officers and no inconvenience is caused to the lawyers and litigants.

The impact of this notification will also be felt by the litigants and lawyers engaged in Negotiable Instruments cases as various NI Act courts have also been transferred.

The Acting Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court has been closely monitoring the dispensation of justice in the city. Last week, the Delhi High Court judges had made surprise visits to district courts in the capital to evaluate the functioning of the subordinate judiciary.
