Sana Hakim (Advocate – High Court, Partner, POSH at Work)

Sana has done her law from Government Law College in Mumbai and Masters in Law from University of Mumbai. Her expertise lies in family law, gender based and criminal laws including laws such as sexual harassment, domestic violence, maternity benefit act etc. She is a co-founder of firm POSH at work (www.poshatwork.com), currently empanelled with the Ministry of Women and Child Development (GOI).

She acts as an external member on Internal Committees of more than 40 public and private sector organisations. She has been instrumental in advising organisations on effective compliance of the Law on prevention of sexual harassment, Internal Committees (IC) on identifying nature of complaints and concerns, and process of filing police complaints and its consequences amongst other guidance, advice and assistance. 

She has conducted more than 100 inquires of sexual harassment by advising, suggesting and devising methods of providing assistance of filing of complaint, guiding IC and other stakeholders of the inquiry on appropriate course of action and redressal method for informal and formal complaints, reading of evidence and fact finding aspects of inquiries, drafting reports.Additionally, she has conducted more than 250 trainings on sexual harassment law, including for Internal Committee members, awareness and sensitization sessions for employees, managers, management of various organisations Pan India and across sectors including Tata Group, State Bank of India, several IIMs including IIM Indore, Mumbai Police, Judges and staff of Family Court (Bandra, Mumbai), IC members of Andhra Pradesh Government in Vijaywada. She has been invited as a Speaker at events on sexual harassment & gender laws organized by CINTAA [a trade union of film and TV actors] and LEAP-an event organised for deans and HODs of various IITs in India, organised by IIT, Powai, Mumbai respectively.

Her name has featured on various occasions in the national newspapers such as Times of India, Mumbai Mirror and Hindustan Times for issues related to Divorce, Domestic Violence etc, in forums of the Family Court and Bombay High Court. She was also featured in the Super Lawyer magazine. She has been quoted in publications like the Business Standard in her capacity as a partner of POSH at Work

POSH at Work (PAW www.poshatwork.com) is an India firm that super specialises on the Indian law against sexual harassment at workplace - the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (POSH Law) and provides assistance to organizations on the compliance of POSH Law and related matters.
