Amandeep Singh and others Vs State of Punjab and other - Synopsis
Team SoOLEGAL 6 Oct 2020
Previously, there was a particular order passed by the Punjab and Haryana High Court which had stated that private schools can charge tuition fees from the students, irrespective of whether they were conducting online classes or not. This particular order was challenged by both states. The Punjab and Haryana High Court has recently directed that private schools can only take tuition fees from the students, only if they have provided online classes in the period of lock down in every working day to the students. Also the Court has ordered that the management of the schools should file a balance sheet for the preceding seven months within two weeks and it also must be verified by a Chartered Accountant.
