WithUnlock 4.0 in place, the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) has started physical hearing of cases from Sept 01 onwards. The Commission has provided the Parties/ Counsel with an option to appear physically in the cases listed for Video Conferencing before Benches Nos.1 and 6, for advancing their submission/arguments.

Advocates are allowed to appear physically for hearing if all Parties to the Matter give their consent. If all the Parties/Counsel to a Case don't wish to appear physically, the Case shall be heard via Video Conferencing only. For this, the Counsel/Parties may furnish to the Registry, their willingness/consent to appear physically in the matters listed for hearing on a particular day, at least two days before the date of hearing.

It has been clarified that only the Arguing Counsel shall be allowed to appear physically before the Benches and no Clerks shall be allowed. Inter alia, Advocates are exempted from wearing heavy upper body clothing like a coat, gown, etc.
