Plea in Delhi High Court Against Salary Cuts of Private School Teachers

A petition has been filed by a law student Mukul Sharma before the High Court of Delhi against the salary deduction and payment delay that has been faced by the teachers and the other staff of Private School due to the coronavirus pandemic. 

The court will hear the petition next week. The petition sought the direction to renew the contract of the teachers and the staff and provide them the due salaries and also provide the full salaries to teachers who are on the contract as well. 

The plea sought a direction to act against the schools that are not paying their teachers and the other staff and ask them to provide interim relief to their teachers by giving the complete salary as well as clear all the dues arrears. 

It said that the petition if allowed, would benefit the teachers and the working staff of all the private schools in Delhi as the rule of law is very essential for the democracy and such a brazen violation of law by the respondents is bias to citizens as a whole.
