Form XIV Register Of Certificate Of Naturalisation And Oaths Of Allegiance


The purpose of this form is served under the Citizenship Act, 1955 which defines the citizenship by birth. Any person born in India on or after 26 January 1950, but prior to the commencement of the 1986 Act on 1 July 1987, is a citizen of India by birth. A person born in India on or after 1 July 1987 is a citizen of India if either parent was a citizen of India at the time of the birth. An oath of allegiance stated under this form is an oath whereby a subject or citizen acknowledges a duty of allegiance and swears loyalty to monarch or country. In republics, modern oaths specify allegiance to the country in general, or to the country's constitution.
