Notary is a person authorised to perform certain legal formalities especially to draw up or certify contracts,deeds,and other documents for use in other jurisdiction. These persons are licensed by the government to perform acts in legal affairs, in particular witnessing signatures on documents. 

A notary Public’s seal on a document indicates that it has been notarized.
