Certificate Of Approval. Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act, 1971 (34 of 1971).

FORM B Medical Termination of Pregnancy Rules 1975 Certificate Of Approval.

Approval of a Place - No place shall be approved under clause (b) of section 4-unless the Government is satisfied that termination ofpregnancies may be done therein under safe and hygienicconditions; and .(ii) unless the following facilities are provided therein, namely:-(a) an operation table and instruments for performing

abdominal or gynaecological surgery;

(b)" anaesthetic equipment, resuscitation equipment andsterilisation equipment;

(c) drugs and parenteral fluids for emergency use.

The Government may after considering the application and the recommendations of the Chief Medical Officer of the District approve such place and issue a certificate of approval in Form B.


The Indian abortion laws falls under the Medical Termination of Pregnancy(MTPAct, which was enacted by the Indian Parliament in the year 1971 with the intention of reducing the incidence of illegal abortion and consequent maternal mortality and morbidity.
