Piyush Gupta

Lawyer
Practice Location: Delhi High Court And District Courts In Delhi

I, Piyush Gupta, an Advocate joined this noble profession in the year 2008 and since then I sincerely made various efforts for the welfare of the legal fraternity.

I am grand-son of Late DR. D. P. GUPTA, who joined this noble profession in 1961 and he was a prominent advocate of Delhi. He was the Member Bar Council of Delhi and was also the chairman of Disciplinary and Enrolment Committee. He was also famous for providing biggest Library through his office to the young lawyers who used to often visit his office which was open to all.

Dr. D. P. Gupta’s contribution to the society is evident from his writings in the form of almost 20 books that have been published, which include historic work of translation and transliteration of the “holy Quran” titled as “Pavitra Quran Darhan”. He was also honored and was conferred with various awards namely “Sahitya Samman, Madan Mohan Malviye Ji Award, Kavya Gaurav Award and was also awarded Gyanacharya by the Kabir Panthi Mahasabha”. At a very early age of 62 years my grand-father late Dr. Gupta decided to stop working for financial gains, and spent later of his life for social causes and also donated well-furnished “Bar Room” for lady advocates.

My grand-father Dr. Dhan Prakash Gupta Left his legacy which is being nurtured by my father MR. ANIL GUPTA, who is an equally prominent lawyer and a former Vice President of Delhi Bar Association. He is the one who introduced the concept of lawyer’s Welfare Stamp during his tenure of Vice President, Delhi Bar Association (1992-1994).

Thereafter I being the eldest son in the family also joined this profession in the year 2008 and followed all the steps taught by my late grand- father and my father for the welfare of this fraternity.

My family has devoted more than 55 years for the development of the legal fraternity and have always been dedicated to maintain the sanctity of the legal profession and left no stone unturned to uplift the status of lawyer’s fraternity. I can say it with conviction that if I am given opportunity to serve the Bar as Member, BCD , continuing my family legacy, I will always work for the upliftment and growth of our lawyer’s family and to the best of my ability try to maintain the dignity of this noble profession.
