I am a dual qualified Singapore and Malaysian lawyer with 28 years of experience. 

I am a Partner in Azmi & Associates one of the largest full service Malaysian law firms. The firm has been accorded accolades and international recognition with multiple citations for the past 15 years. I am also part of the international legal networks of ASEAN Plus, Terralex and First Law International. 

I regularly act for and advise local and international clients on their businesses and business transactions. I have conducted risk and contract assessment for clients and draft operational contracts for their businesses. Particular expertise in Shipping, Insurance and International Trade and Oil & Gas. I have written books for legal practitioners, which are a source reference for contracts and contract drafting such as Malaysian Forms and Precedents on Shipping, Insurance Claims. The lawyers drafting operational and transactional documents in the industry use my precedents / templates especially the Forms and Precedents on Shipping. I have conducted a review of the Merchant Shipping Laws in the Annotated Merchant Shipping Laws which is used and cited in Courts and the authorities and industry.

I am an accredited Arbitrator with the Asian International Arbitration Centre [ formerly Kuala Lumpur Regional Center for Arbitration] and have conducted arbitrations in Malaysia, Singapore and internationally as Arbitrator and Counsel.

I am empanelled as Member to the Arbitration Association Brunei, Darussalam

I have been invited to the legal advisory committee of FIATA the global association of Freight Forwarders based in Switzerland

I am also Advisor to Reseau Global, An International Legal Compliance Consultancy. 

I also act for direct clients as well as Counsel for law firms at the trial and appellate courts.

I also lecture in the industry as well as in academic institutions within and outside Malaysia.  

I wrote the chapter on Carriage of Goods by Sea which covers Charterparties and Bills of lading in Pleadings Malaysian Edition.  General Editor Datuk Nallini Court of Appeal Judge.
