Form 3-A The Employees Provident Funds Scheme, 1952 (Paras, 35 & 42)

The purpose of this form is served under the Employees Provident Funds Scheme, 1952 and the Employees Pension scheme, 1995 where EPF or Employees Provident fund is a retirement benefit given to a employee working in an establishment or factory which is deducted from their wages or salaries with dearness allowances (DA) if any, and the form does bears the account number to be filled for such deduction. This fund is maintained and overseen by the Employees Provident Fund Organization of India (EPFO) and any company with over 20 employees is required by law to register with the EPFO. Employees are automatically enrolled into the Employees Pension Scheme only if they are members of the EPF scheme and the central government also contributes to an employee's EPS along with employer contribution of 8.33% of the salary. EPF and EPS are rights of a salaried person or a worker which helps in sustaining their old age after retirement.
