Offline-heavy Oppo to launch online store on May 7 in India

The one-stop-shop will showcase all Oppo offerings and customers will be able to avail of all offers accessible on the e-store, Oppo said and added that the online store will be accessible to customers across India while offering a seamless buying experience.

NEW DELHI: Chinese smartphone maker Oppo said it will launch its e-store in India on May 7 to offer the convenience of stay-at-home shopping to consumers as the COVID-19 pandemic picks pace again.

The one-stop-shop will showcase all Oppo offerings and customers will be able to avail of all offers accessible on the e-store, Oppo said and added that the online store will be accessible to customers across India while offering a seamless buying experience.

“The launch of the OPPO e-store is a big leap in increasing our Omnichannel retail presence. We’re focusing on further strengthening our online and offline presence equally. This platform will empower users to stay connected in these difficult times by enabling access to innovative technology from the comfort of their homes,” commented Oppo India CMO, Damyant Singh Khanoria, on the launch.

Oppo, which is the fifth-largest smartphone brand in the India smartphone market, shipped 16.5 million during the calendar year 2020, to account for a share of 11% of the overall market, according to research firm IDC India. However, its on-year growth remained flat.

Oppo says it has a robust network of retailers and distributors in the country. with 60,000 sales points and 180 retail outlets.

The Chinese phone brand recently said it will launch its first 5G-ready smartphone, the Oppo A74 5G, priced under Rs 20,000 in India.
