Chinese Solar Cell Anti-Subsidy Duties Draw Legal Challenge

Producer and exporter Risen Energy Co. is challenging U.S. anti-subsidy duty rates on certain imports of Chinese solar power cells at the U.S. Court of International Trade.

The U.S. maintains countervailing duties on Chinese “crystalline silicon photovoltaic cells, whether or not assembled into modules.” The Commerce Department recently completed a periodic duty review covering subject cells that entered the U.S. in 2017.
