Chemours Loses Legal Bid for Duties on Nonstick Chemical Imports

The U.S. International Trade Commission reasonably concluded that imports of polytetrafluoroethylene resin from India and China didn’t pose a substantial threat to domestic industry, and the U.S. therefore won’t impose trade remedy duties on them, a federal court said.

PTFE is used in lubricants, gaskets, seals, and insulation, as well as in nonstick coatings on cookware. Chemours Co. produces Teflon, a PTFE formula.
